The Ministry of Energy coordinates Romania’s public policies and strategic priorities in the energy sector, playing a key role in the development, regulation and monitoring of the national energy system. The institution operates as a specialised body of the central public administration, under the authority of the Government.
Through its activity, the Romanian state defines the legislative and strategic framework for the sector, monitors the energy market, protects consumer interests and represents Romania in international negotiations and forums related to energy.
