Founded in 1994 by Romanian entrepreneur Michael Schmidt, Automobile Bavaria is the largest network of BMW dealerships in Central and Eastern Europe. Under the umbrella of the MHS Holding group, alongside MHS Truck & Bus, Schmidt Automobile, Schmidt Premium Cars, Bavaria Motors, Bavaria Insurance Broker, and Bavaria Mobility, Automobile Bavaria Group specializes in brokering the sale of both new and used cars – including BMW and MINI.
Present in ten major cities across Romania, Automobile Bavaria operates 12 BMW locations, as well as the Rolls-Royce Motor Cars dealership in Romania. Starting in 2023, the company became the exclusive importer of INEOS Grenadier vehicles in Romania, with the first dedicated showroom opened at Automobile Bavaria Otopeni (Bucharest).
In its 30 years of representing the BMW brand, Automobile Bavaria has achieved many milestones, including the inauguration of the first BMW M dealership in Romania and the status of Competence Center for Special Sales to Romanian authorities and diplomats. Since 2018, all Automobile Bavaria dealers have also become authorized BMW i dealers, enthusiastically embracing electric technologies.
