The European Investment Bank (EIB)

The European Investment Bank (EIB) is the lending arm of the European Union and one of the largest multilateral financial institutions in the world. Acting as the EU’s climate bank, the EIB finances projects across priority areas including the green transition, technological innovation, security and defence, regional cohesion, social infrastructure, and international development.
Alongside the European Investment Fund, the institution operates across all EU member states and in numerous regions worldwide, supporting major European programmes such as InvestEU, Horizon Europe, and the Recovery and Resilience Facility. Through its strategic priorities, the EIB aims to accelerate economic growth, technological and social progress, and strengthen Europe’s global standing.
